Packing Tips for Pictures and Mirrors

Pictures and mirrors are some of the most delicate and fragile items to pack when moving. They require extra care and attention to prevent damage during transportation. Proper packing techniques can make all the difference in ensuring that your pictures and mirrors arrive at your new home in one piece. In this blog, we'll go over some tips on how to pack pictures and mirrors for a move.

  1. Gather packing supplies: You will need packing supplies such as bubble wrap, packing paper, packing tape, cardboard boxes, and moving blankets. Ensure you have enough supplies before you start packing.

  2. Remove the pictures from their frames: This is the first step in packing pictures and mirrors. Remove the pictures from their frames and store the frames separately. Wrap the pictures in packing paper and secure them with tape to protect them from scratches and other damages.

  3. Wrap in bubble wrap: Once you have covered the corners, wrap the pictures and mirrors in bubble wrap. This provides an extra layer of protection from scratches and other damages. Secure the bubble wrap with packing tape to ensure it stays in place.

  4. Pack the pictures and mirrors: Place the wrapped pictures and mirrors in a cardboard box. Use crumpled packing paper or foam peanuts to fill any gaps and ensure they don't move around during transportation. Label the boxes as "fragile" to ensure that they are handled with care.

  5. Consider using moving blankets: If you have large mirrors or pictures, consider using moving blankets to wrap them before placing them in the boxes. This will provide an additional layer of protection during transportation.

  6. Store the frames separately: To prevent damage to the frames, store them separately in a box with packing paper or bubble wrap. Label the box as "frames" to ensure that they are easily identifiable.

  7. Protect the corners: Cover the corners of the pictures and mirrors with cardboard corners. This helps to prevent damage to the corners, which are vulnerable during transportation.

In conclusion, packing pictures and mirrors requires extra care and attention. By following these tips, you can ensure that your fragile items are protected during transportation and arrive safely at your new home. If you are unsure about how to pack pictures and mirrors, consider hiring professional packers and movers to handle this delicate task.
